There are a couple of cool new things in this beta.
The "Satellite Map" option from the What's Here menu has been totally rewritten to use native Google Maps API. This makes it much smoother, and also interactive. The Find function works so you can precisely locate postcode, houses, fields etc in the satellite map. You can then press and hold to create a User Waypoint exactly where you want. User Waypoints are annotated on the satellite map, can be dragged around and edited.
The Satellite functionality within the Airfield Information window has also been updated. You can now choose to show an Aerial View or a perspective view from finals down most runways, which is really cool.

Please give all this a try and give us some feedback. We particularly want to know if the maps functionality doesn't work on your (older) device, which might be because your Google Maps app on the device needs to be updated.

This is view is not (yet) available on small screen devices, e.g. iPhone

I tried Duxford and the new function works correctly.
I fly in Italy and on Pisa and Florence airports does not work..
Great function however.

Neither of these airfields have accurately recorded runway positions in SD so the feature is not implemented at these airports.Note the red outline to the runway.
